i have no idea why i am writing such a depressing post...normally i like to think of myself as a collected, together person, sure of what i want...
but then lately, i've come to think it's impossible to avoid confusion, no matter how much u grow up. in fact, growing up makes it all a lot more worse.
u are SUPPOSED to be mature, which means u are EXPECTED to be RESPONSIBLE. and being responsible means u have to THINK twice before acting, u have to be RESPECTFUL of others, which totally sucks!
i mean, remember the good old times when u can say and do anything, and people would just say, "oh, she's just a kid"? what im trying to say is, its better to stay a teenager because u can get away with ANYTHING...
depressing, and a commonly observed feeling, hence a typical post; i know...but then how does one avoid these things???

JUST AN UPDATE
i can't believe it's really been this long....!! longer than a month??!! damn!
anyway, i don't like saying i am or was too busy, so i'd just say i couldn't find the time for a new post...
so many things have happened over the last few weeks...
missed my graduation, won an award, was pissed at a colleague for 3 days, been yelled at by my boss for the first time, got a few requests rejected/ignored by a dozen MPs, manhandled by a DRP loyalist......on and on it goes....
just checking in with a few updates, coz quitting was never the plan... ;) ! (seriously)
cheers!

G O T C H A !
so i was doing my thing at work, and all of a sudden, i was required to come up with a dhivehi word for "GOTCHA!"
the first thing that came to my mind, as u can image , was "WTF???"
so i used all sorts of research techniques, including asking around what was an appropriate ENGLISH word for "aaaaiy" - that sound we make, to express ridicule (and many other emotions). i thought this would somehow point me in the right direction...
but i was wrong...
the realisation was harsh! there is no appropriate dhivehi word for "gotcha"...not one that would convey the meaning of the english word with its original flair...
i thought to myself, "what a shame..."

I M A G I N E
imagine just how different your life would be if...
for all i know i'm just rambling...there's nothing specific on my mind...just a lot of WHAT IFs...
but let's just think about this...how cool would it be to work from home? no fighting over the aircon temperature, no one to squint at you for increasing the itunes volume, no gun in your face telling you to come up with creative ideas (gosh! how do you FORCE ideas out??)...just working in your own time, whenver you feel like it...just letting ideas FLOW...
i think it's time employers considered an alternative working environment, relieved the mind numbingly painful four-walled interiors of the office...afterall, they demand increased productivity from their staff...
i mean how often do you have to FORCE yourself to actually do something work related? there are highs and lows for all of us...our motivation levels tend to fluctuate...NOT FEELING LIKE DOING ANY WORK TODAY doesn't make us bad employees...we each have our own times of creativity and productivity...
if only someone would acknowledge this fact...
sighhhh...
i know there's a lot of irony in what i'm saying...like, how can an employer be expected to relinquish control of the time their staff wake up everyday?
but hey...i'm just rambling here...
let me go back to my happy place.... my yet-to-be-owned balcony from where i work...
